Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you may know, Grandfield High School has a closed campus lunch policy for our 7th-12th grade students. The policy was adopted in a measure to keep all of our students safe and under our supervision during the lunch time break.
Unfortunately, the past couple of months have highlighted some loopholes in our policy. In an effort to close those loopholes, the Grandfield Board of Education has adopted the following policy, to be enforced effective immediately:
Grades 7th through 12th will not be allowed to leave campus during lunch. If students leave at lunch they must be picked up and checked out and checked back in by their parents or guardians each day. In order to be checked out, their parent/guardian must physically sign them out in the high school office, at the time of lunch. No phone call authorization will be permitted. Students who are not checked out properly will be considered truant. Students will need to stay in the cafeteria or commons area during lunch period. Students are not allowed to take food or drinks out of the cafeteria.
- Students will only be allowed to leave school campus during lunch if they are checked out by a parent or guardian. The student’s parent or guardian must sign the student out in the office. No phone call check outs will be permitted. This procedure pertains to all Grandfield students- regardless of their age (including 18 year olds and older).
- Breakfast is served from 7:30am to 8:00am each morning. Students are not allowed in the cafeteria before 7:30am. Students are not permitted to take food or milk out of the cafeteria.
- Lunch is served from 10:55am to 11:25am each day. Students who are checked out early for lunch or returning back late for lunch will be given an unexcused tardy. The tardy bell rings at 11:30am for purposes of this designation.
Please contact the high school office if you have any questions regarding this matter.
